What Age for Orthodontics?

Sims Orthodontics can improve smiles at any age, but there are benefits to early diagnosis. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that a child's first visit to the orthodontist should take place no later than age 7.

Dr. Sims is skilled in intervention and prevention procedures. Early examination enables us to detect and evaluate problems and determine the appropriate time to treat them. In some cases, correcting a problem early allows us to use the growth of the developing child to produce more stable results and a better facial appearance. Even if treatment is not indicated at this age, Dr. Sims may want to monitor facial growth and development by periodic check ups while the permanent teeth erupt and the face and jaws continue to grow.
