If you are looking for a straighter, more attractive smile without the hassle of traditional metal braces, Invisalign is the perfect option for you. The Invisalign aligners are removable and virtually invisible, which means you can straighten your teeth without anyone knowing!
Why Choose Invisalign?
Invisalign and conventional braces are both designed to give you beautiful, straight teeth, but Invisalign is a custom-made alternative that can make your entire orthodontic experience more comfortable.
- They’re Removable: Invisalign aligners are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want, when you want! You can even brush and floss your teeth as you normally would – there are no metal braces in your way.
- They’re Clear: These clear aligners are aesthetically pleasing and hardly noticeable, and they don’t require any irritating metal brackets or wires that can cause soreness or irritability in your mouth.
- They Show Virtual Results: Invisalign allows you to view your virtual results before you even start your treatment, which can’t be done with traditional braces. You’ll get a firsthand glimpse into how beautiful your teeth will look once the treatment is complete.
How Invisalign Works
To create your custom Invisalign aligners, we first build a picture of your teeth by placing them in an impression tray. This impression, along with the most advanced imaging technology, helps us create a 3D model of your teeth. The model is then used to generate a fully custom, clear aligner that you will wear for about two weeks, with total treatment time taking anywhere between 6 – 15 months.
Invisalign for Teens
Sims Orthodontics also offers Invisalign Teen, made specifically for teenagers and their busy lifestyles. Each aligner has a blue-to-clear compliance indicator that serves as a gauge to how long each aligner should be worn. When the indicator is clear, it means the aligner needs to be replaced. Invisalign Teen patients will receive six free replacement aligners in case some get lost or broken. Invisalign Teen works the same way as traditional Invisalign, and can be used to treat a variety of conditions, including overly crowded teeth, widely spaced teeth, crossbite, overbite, and underbite.
Why should I choose an orthodontic specialist?
Teeth, and sometimes facial structures, are permanently changed by orthodontic treatment. It is important that the treatment be appropriate and properly completed. Orthodontic specialists have extensive and specialized training beyond dental school that enables them to provide their patients with professional, personalized treatments. Dr. Sims attended Oklahoma University Health Science Center for an additional 2 1/2 years after graduating from dental school to specialize in orthodontics.
Can I wear braces even though I have crowns and missing teeth?
Yes. A tooth with a crown will move just like a tooth with a simple filling. When teeth are missing orthodontic treatment can aid in the alignment of remaining teeth, in some instances close spaces, and possibly even reduce the amount of restorative work necessary.
Is it too late to have braces if I am already an adult?
A surprising percentage of our patients are adults. In fact, 25 percent of all orthodontic patients are adults. Health, happiness and self-esteem are vitally important to adults. No patient is “too old” to wear braces!
